Kylie Kelce Is Switching From Breastfeeding to Formula. She Doesn’t Care If You Have Opinions

"As selfish as this may sound, that's where I draw the line. Aggressively."

After almost 9 months of breastfeeding, Kylie Kelce announced that she is gearing up to wean her youngest daughter, Finn.

"I'm currently in the midst of weaning Finny," Kylie said on the Dec. 18 episode of her "Not Gonna Lie" podcast.

"Weaning is not going great because ... it's not going," the mom of four explained. "But Finn's about to cut a tooth, OK? And as selfish as this may sound, that's where I draw the line. Aggressively. That's aggressively where I draw the line."

Noting that she has breastfed each of her older three daughters for around 7 or 8 months, Kylie said, "I've never breastfed a child past them getting teeth. Full disclosure 'cause I think that this again is something that people typically don’t talk about because it can be a conscious choice."

Kylie often brings taboo motherhood topics into a larger cultural conversation, and breastfeeding has been among them. In an earlier podcast, she gave a two-word tip for people who happen to be in the vicinity of a mom breastfeeding her baby: "Act natural."

Kylie has breastfed Finn longer than any of her older daughters.

"Just to be clear, this is my choice. And it might not be the choice that other people make," Kylie said. "I am very fortunate to have been able to breastfeed because I know that that’s not always everyone’s journey. Some people who want to cannot, so it's important to recognize that."

Each time she weaned her daughters from breastfeeding, she introduced formula.

Kylie pointed to her oldest daughter, 6-year-old Wyatt, who is currently learning to read and write, to imply that regardless of the way she was fed, she is perfectly on track for her age.

"Anyone who has an opinion about how I choose to go about my breastfeeding journey, and therefore my formula-fed journey, you can kindly get f-----," she said. "You knew it was coming. And also, fed is best. Let me say it one more time for emphasis: fed is best."
