Frank Caprio, the veteran municipal court judge who became a viral star and then got his own national TV show with his uncommon compassion in the courtroom, has died at 88. The son of an Italian immigrant milkman, Caprio went to law school at night while teaching high school and served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard all before becoming known as “the world’s nicest judge.” Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well lived.Aug. 24, 2025
